About this space
Our modern Balcony Room is located upstairs at Grey Lynn Community Centre. This large, multi-purpose space features a private balcony overlooking Richmond Road and is well suited to meetings, training sessions, classes, community groups, counselling, workshops, rehearsals, small conferences, and presentations.
The room can accommodate up to 20 people seated in a theatre-style layout. Please note that adding additional furniture or requiring space to move around the room will reduce this capacity.

Pricing
Weekday: $35 per hour
Weekend: $38 per hour (automatically applied to weekend bookings)
Public Holiday: $38 per hour (applied after booking confirmation)
All bookings are inclusive of set-up and pack-down time. Please ensure you book from the time you enter the room until the time you leave.
Bond
A bond may be required for your booking and will be held on a credit or debit card. Bonds are released after your booking once the space has been checked. Please note that while we release the bond promptly, the time it takes to appear back in your account depends on your bank and can take between 3–10 working days.
Noise
We ask all hirers to be mindful of noise when entering and leaving the premises and when using communal areas. Some incidental noise may occur. If noise becomes an issue during your booking, please speak with the on-site custodian or contact us and we will work with you to support the success of your event.
Food and drink
You are welcome to bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks or use external caterers. The kitchenette includes a mini fridge, microwave, hot/cold water filter, and sink. Crockery for up to 20 people is available on request from the office. Please allow time to wash and dry anything you use and leave the kitchenette as you found it. Alcohol is not permitted in this room.

If you require presentation equipment, please add the Commbox to your booking.
Cleaning
The room must be left as you found it. Cleaning equipment is provided. If you are unable to clean the space yourself, please select the cleaning option at checkout.
Access
The Balcony Room is wheelchair accessible via lift. An accessible toilet is located opposite the room, with another on the ground floor. A staff member will be on site to provide access for your booking. There are two accessible car parking spaces available. The centre also offers a baby changing table and a small semi-private breastfeeding area.
Location
Grey Lynn Community Centre is located on Richmond Road, within a vibrant cluster of neighbourhood shops and eateries. We’re surrounded by some of Auckland’s best cafes, making it easy to plan lunch breaks, coffee runs, or post-event catch-ups nearby.

Rules
To help keep the Balcony Room safe, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone, please follow these guidelines:
The decking and playground are shared communal spaces and are not for exclusive use during your booking.
No smoking or vaping anywhere in or around the facility.
No naked flames, including candles.
BBQs and smoke machines are not permitted.
Glitter is not allowed, as it is difficult to clean.
Please take care not to activate the fire alarm. If the fire service is called out due to misuse, any associated fines may be charged to the hirer.
#### Decorations & Wall Use
* **Do not use** Sellotape, push-pins, tacks, nails, or Blu-Tack on painted walls.
* **Blu-Tack may be used on the wooden walls only**.
* All decorations, string, and Blu-Tack must be **fully removed before the end of your booking**.
#### Leaving the Space
* The hall must be **left in the same condition as you found it**.
* Cleaning tools are available on request.
* There is **no on-site rubbish disposal** — all rubbish must be taken with you at the end of your event.

Additional details
The centre offers 20 free, private on-site parking spaces, available on a first-come, first-served basis for all users. Additional free residential street parking is available within a five-minute walk. The centre is also well serviced by public transport, located on the 105 bus route connecting Westmere and the CBD.
