Shed 2 has a unique history - originally built to accommodate the growth of the Corban Family business when transitioning from small to large-scale wine producer. In the 1990’s Basketball Auckland was a key tenant and basketball court markings are reminiscent of this time.
At 720sqm in size, this venue is perfect for large scale rehearsals, markets, community events, it’s also a great location for film, music and television productions. Skylights provide natural daylight throughout the day, and the walls are lined with a rich dark red interior, giving the space a warm atmosphere.

Capacity: 100-350 (dependant on capacity in the theatre next door)
Included in Standard Hire: Basketball court area and kitchenette only. Please refer to the floor plan for specific boundaries.
The area beyond the court is not included in the standard hire, is primarily used for storage and is not included in the hire agreement.
The hire of the space includes 10 trestle tables and 80 white plastic chairs located behind the large barrels.
Shed 2 has lighting. However, the space has no cooling or heating installed other than two remote-controlled wall fans. Large cooling units could be hired at an additional cost.
Wifi is available.
A small kitchenette with benchtop, sink, fridge, kettle and microwave. Please BYO crockery, cutlery, glasses, and utensils.
Access to Public Bathrooms available, situated across the driveway.
Additional Costs
- A service/admin fee of $50.00 applies to all bookings.
- Security – if your event is after hours the presence of security may be required, the person handling your booking will confirm this. Hirers can engage their own service provider, or we can assist with this.
- High Impact Fee - A high impact fee of $200.00 per day may apply to significant events or film crew hires. The person handling your booking will confirm this if your booking utilises multiple spaces, requires road closures, CEAC staff support or additional cleaning, consumable and utility costs.

Rules
- Booking time must include set up and pack down
- Decorations may be used with temporary fixings and all residues must be removed without damage to surfaces.
- Fires and fireworks are strictly prohibited, use of candles to be discussed with person handling your booking.
- Confetti, rice and coloured powders must not be used
- Bookings for 16th, 18th and 21st birthdays will not be accepted
- The venue must be left clean and tidy after the hire, all rubbish and items used in the hire must be removed. Failure to do this may result in a cleaning fee.
- Hirers can bring a DJ or band, and must adhere to Akl Council noise restrictions.
- Hirers can bring their own certified tag and tested extension leads and equipment.
Hirers may serve alcohol during their hire, a liquor license from Akl Council will be required if you are - selling alcohol at your event, charging an entry fee or collecting donations where alcohol is being supplied for free. Guest BYO is not permitted. Alcohol must not be served to minors or intoxicated people and must not be consumed outside of the venue. Host responsibility applies.
Weight Load Limits:
Timber floors - maximum of 330kg per sqm
Portal frames - portal frame can take an additional load of ONLY 150kg / purlins can not take ANY additional load.Between 8:30 - 9:15am on a weekday, the Kakano Van will be removed from the back of Shed 2 and returned at anytime between 2:30 - 4:00pm. These time frames are non-negotiable.

Additional details
Parking is available in the Main Carpark and further parking in the Church carpark. All parking on the estate is on a first-come first-served basis, no vehicles are permitted to park on the grass or blocking access ways. It is a 10 min walk to Henderson Train Station and Bus Interchange, Lincoln Rd or the WestCity Mall.
